New central module of the modular safety system

The new 3RK3 Advanced central module is is the logical expansion to the SIRIUS 3RK3 Modular Safety System with regard to quantity structure, functionality, and integration into the AS-Interface. Typical applications are the fail-safe slave-to-slave communication in modular machine concepts, fail-safe communication with plant sections and the reading of distributed sensors and shutdown of actuators via ASIsafe.

 

Safety switch


The Siemens Industry Automation Division has launched an electronic contactless safety switch for protective equipment, such as covers, flaps and doors, onto the market. The new 3SE63 safety switch is based on contactless RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) transponder technology and offers a high level of protection against interference, tampering and bypassing. The switch can be used in safety applications up to Performance Level e according to EN 13849-1 as well as SIL 3 according to IEC 61508/62061 and is suitable for connecting several devices in parallel.
